Chocolate brownies are a classic dessert that combines rich, decadent chocolate with a soft, fudgy texture. This recipe uses high-quality dark chocolate, butter, and cocoa powder to create the perfect treat for chocolate lovers. Follow these simple steps to make your own batch of irresistible brownies.

Ingredients

  • Dark 70% chocolate: 200 g
  • Sugar: 170 g
  • Eggs: 3
  • Flour: 120 g
  • Butter: 125 g
  • Cocoa powder: 60 g (50 g for the batter, 10 g for dusting)
  • Vanilla extract: ½ tsp
  • Sea salt: ¼ tsp

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it with the butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler method). Once melted, set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, lightly whisk the sugar and eggs together using a hand mixer or whisk attachment until the mixture is pale and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and continue whisking until well combined.
  4. Gradually pour the cooled melted chocolate into the egg mixture, stirring continuously until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, mix the flour, 50 g of cocoa powder, and sea salt. Gently fold this dry mixture into the chocolate batter using a spatula until fully incorporated.
  6. Line a small deep baking tray with parchment paper. Pour the brownie batter into the tray and smooth the surface.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–27 minutes. The brownies should have a slightly soft center when done. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan.
  8. Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and dust them with the remaining cocoa powder before serving.

Enjoy your delicious homemade brownies!
