This recipe uses high-quality dark chocolate, butter, and cocoa powder to create the perfect treat for chocolate lovers. Follow these simple steps to make your own batch of irresistible brownies.
Ingredients
- Dark 70% chocolate: 200 g
- Sugar: 170 g
- Eggs: 3
- Flour: 120 g
- Butter: 125 g
- Cocoa powder: 60 g (50 g for the batter, 10 g for dusting)
- Vanilla extract: ½ tsp
- Sea salt: ¼ tsp
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it with the butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler method). Once melted, set aside to cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, lightly whisk the sugar and eggs together using a hand mixer or whisk attachment until the mixture is pale and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and continue whisking until well combined.
- Gradually pour the cooled melted chocolate into the egg mixture, stirring continuously until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, 50 g of cocoa powder, and sea salt. Gently fold this dry mixture into the chocolate batter using a spatula until fully incorporated.
- Line a small deep baking tray with parchment paper. Pour the brownie batter into the tray and smooth the surface.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–27 minutes. The brownies should have a slightly soft center when done. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan.
- Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and dust them with the remaining cocoa powder before serving.
