Traditional Greek Salad, known as Horiatiki, is a refreshing and colorful dish that captures the essence of Greek cuisine. Made with fresh vegetables, tangy feta cheese, and a simple dressing, this salad is perfect for warm days and pairs wonderfully with any meal.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1½ tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
- ½ cucumber, sliced
- ½ green bell pepper, sliced
- 120 g feta cheese, cubed
- 16 pitted olives
Method
- In a small jar, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano. Close the lid and shake well to mix the dressing thoroughly.
- In a large bowl, add the chopped tomatoes, cucumber slices, red onion rings, green pepper strips, cubed feta cheese, and olives.
- Just before serving, drizzle the dressing over the salad, gently toss to combine, and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.
