Ingredients
- 350g chicken wings
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
For the breadcrumb coating:
- 75g breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic granules
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
For the buffalo sauce:
- 100g butter
- 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 120ml hot sauce (Frank’s RedHot or Buffalo sauce)
- Salt, to taste
Method
- Prepare the coating: Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them. In a separate bowl, add the flour. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic granules, oregano, chili flakes, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the wings: First, dip the chicken wings in the flour, then into the whisked eggs, and finally coat them in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer or grill to 200°C (400°F).
- Cook the wings: Once preheated, place the coated chicken wings in the air fryer, making sure to leave some space between each piece. Lightly spray the wings with oil.
- Air fry the wings: Cook the wings for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Spray with a bit more oil if needed to ensure even browning.
- Make the buffalo sauce: While the wings are cooking, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and Worcestershire sauce (if using), and cook for a minute. Stir in the hot sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt if needed.
- Toss the wings in sauce: Once the wings are crispy and golden, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
Serve immediately with your favorite dips and sides, such as celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. Enjoy!
