Traditional Greek Salad, known as Horiatiki, is a refreshing and colorful dish that captures the essence of Greek cuisine. Made with fresh vegetables, tangy feta cheese, and a simple dressing, this salad is perfect for warm days and pairs wonderfully with any meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1½ tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cucumber, sliced
  • ½ green bell pepper, sliced
  • 120 g feta cheese, cubed
  • 16 pitted olives

Method

  1. In a small jar, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano. Close the lid and shake well to mix the dressing thoroughly.
  2. In a large bowl, add the chopped tomatoes, cucumber slices, red onion rings, green pepper strips, cubed feta cheese, and olives.
  3. Just before serving, drizzle the dressing over the salad, gently toss to combine, and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.
